After his
experimental directorial One-Nenokkadine with Mahesh Babu failed to mint money
at the Box Office, director Sukumar has set his focus on film production. He
forayed into film business and producing Sumanth Ashwin-starrer Chakkiligintha.
Sukumar is launching his protege Vema Reddy. Sukumar is definitely playing a
big gamble by turning into producer.
In fact, even director Rajamouli who turned into film producer with Andala Rakshasi has confined with an average. Although the film received critical acclaim, it didn't do well at ticket windows. Film production is not so easy job. Since monetary issues are related and managing distributors, exhibitors and publicity is a Herculean task. If at all the film bombs by chance, distributors would be after him. It needs to be seen how Sukumar's first production venture turns out to be.
