Shankar is unable to find a suitable Villain for "Robo 2"

From a long time, the possible collaboration between Superstar Rajnikanth and versatile director Shankar is on the cards. There is buzz that these two stars who have earlier delivered movies like Sivaji and Robo are now mulling over the idea of delivering a sequel to their science-fiction film. Robo 2 is on cards, but what's the missing piece here?

Buzz has that Shankar is unable to find out a suitable villain for somehow. Earlier they tried for the likes of Bollywood heroes like Shahrukh Khan, but that didn't work out. Later some other popular heroes including Amir Khan and couple of south stars are approached, but everyone backed out. Vikram's name is the latest one to be heard in this connection. Here, this talented hero of I and Aparichitudu is having no qualms to do a negative role but his dates are said to be not flexible. Already he has given two years for 'I' earlier, so he wants to do series of movies without break at the moment.

Shankar feels that regular villains will not work out for Robo 2 for the kind of magnanimity this film is going to portray. But big star heroes are having their own reasons to walk out of the flick. As the idea using Rajnikanth Vs Rajnikanth was already explored in Robo earlier, Shankar can't repeat the same. Hope at least some star doesn't gives empty hand to our Superstar.

Rajinikanth's Lingaa has secured a whopping Rs 200 Crore insurance

These days insurance as become common in every area where there is a scope of profit/loss.  we are aware that Salman Khan's Kick had Rs 300 Crore insurance cover.

Now, what is considered is highest-ever insurance cover in South Film Industry, the makers of Rajinikanth's Lingaa has secured a whopping Rs 200 Crore insurance cover for the film.

The mega-insurance cover includes production insurance and loss of revenue in overseas and India. The insurance also covers delays in shooting, losses due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, fire accidents on the sets, damage to production material, property and injury to actors during shooting. This is not all. The policy also covers sudden illness among the main cast of the film due to food poisoning or if they're under bad weather.

Lingaa is said to be the second highest-ever insurance cover in India while the first is Salman's Kick. Although initially it was seen as an additional burden for film producers, slowly the notion has been changed and we hear that the insurance for movies is slowly becoming a norm.

Another hurdle for Linga

The fear of superstar Rajnikanth's film was so high in Tollywood that it saw a dozen releases happening yesterday. Nobody wants to clash with Rajini's movie 'Lingaa' scheduled to release on December 12th ie his birthday. But if reports from Chennai are to be believed, some doubts are again rising on its release.

Recently, a case alleging copyright infringement was struck off by the Madurai court. But before the makers can breathe easy, another writer named Saktivel has filed a case now alleging his story has been lifted. Due to these controversies, some are expressing concern whether the release will happen for sure or not.

It appears that till the film arrives, someone or the other would keep putting their leg in between. This seems to have become the trend for many big hero flicks. Though the doubts are on, the makers are super confident that no hassles will come and the film will release as scheduled. This would bring a lot of relief and cheer to Rajini fans then!

No legal huedles for Linga

For those who are worried about the legal hurdles engulfing Superstar Rajnikanth's "Lingaa" that posed a snag for the December 12th release, could now breathe easy. As the Court dismissed the plagariasm petition against the movie, hero Rajni and director KS Ravikumar, Lingaa is set to hit cinemas on Rajnikanth's birthday in more than 2500 screens across the globe.

Accusing that Rajni and his writer Ponn Kumaran have copied the movie 'Mullai Vanam 999', filmmaker KR Ravi Ratnam lodged a plagiarism petition pushing 'Lingaa' makers into trouble. Rajni has claimed that his movie's story is original and after looking into all the evidences, script and all, Court has now quashed the petition lodged by Ravi Ratnam. That brings the exciting news that Superstar's 63rd birthday on Dec 12 will see Lingaa's release.
