While the
whole film industry and movie buffs are shocked with the sudden stalling of
Shankar's magnum opus I and yet to come to terms with the Madras High Court's
decision, not many know that a leading film producer and distributor from
Andhra Pradesh is behind this.
Prasad V Potluri, who also finances for high-budget films besides producing and distributing them, has reportedly lent money to the Aascar Ravichandran for the massive budget flick. Touted to be visual effects extravaganza, the romantic thriller's budget is estimated close to Rs 200 Crore and PVP said to have doled out some crores for the film. As per the agreement, the producers have to settle the deal before the film's release but in vain.
With this, PVP knocked the high court's doors which directed the makers to halt the movie release before giving proper assurance. This pushed the film's release to three weeks later (as of now) making way for Pawan Kalyan-Venkatesh's Gopala Gopala.
