The moment
"Srimanthudu" producer announced that they are shifting the release
date of their film from July 17th to August 7th, a section of critics and trade
experts have started blaming them of telling lies. Some big trade pundits and
media folks shared that "Srimanthudu" moved a step back only because
of pressure from distributors of movie.
"Srimanthudu distributors wanted to back out from the release if the producers don't change release date. That's why Mahesh's makers have postponed. Pushing the blame on Baahubali producers is silly", said a trade expert, after listening to Mythri Makers producers. This triggered a sort of war online with Mahesh fans expressing their displeasure over the happenings and Prabhas fans claiming that 'Mahesh feared Baahubali'. Not anymore, because producer Shobhu Yarlagadda spoke himself to clarify what has happened.
"Baahubali release date is not only compelled by post production works but also by our buyers and distributors across four languages", said Shobhu, explaining why they are sticking to July 10th. Coming to Srimanthudu date shift issue, he said, "I met Srimanthudu producers some time back and explained our situation. I requested them to consider moving their release date if possible. We thank Srimanthudu Producers, Director and Mahesh Babu for understanding and maintaining a healthy relationship in the industry". That explains what has really happened.
This postponement and Shobu's clarification is neither Prabhas fans victory nor Mahesh fans victory. Egos of fans don't collect 100s of crores for a movie, but proper placement, date and release will fetch returns on the investment. Good job, Baahubali and Srimanthudu teams!!
